Buff Veterinary Physiotherapy is owned and run by Elizabeth Bargery (MSc Veterinary Physiotherapy, BHS APC, MNAVP), always known as Buff! Buff is a registered, fully qualified and insured veterinary physiotherapist, small animal hydrotherapist, and accredited professional coach.

Buff graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a first class BSc (Hons) in Equine Sport Science in 2009. During her years at university, Buff developed deep understanding of equine anatomy and physiology, and horse-human interactions. Following graduation, Buff also completed her BHS exams and became a qualified riding instructor, specialising in 'tricky' horses and nervous riders.

After a few years working on yards and lecturing in animal and equine based courses up to degree level, Buff's career path changed towards complimentary treatments of animals.

In 2019, Buff completed a level 3 diploma in small animal hydrotherapy and went on to start an MSc in Veterinary Physiotherapy at Writtle University College.

The 2 years of study included further knowledge of equine and canine pathophysiology, anatomy and biomechanics as well as manual therapy, electrotherapy and clinical reasoning skills and techniques. Buff graduated with an MSc in Veterinary Physiotherapy in 2022, having written a thesis investigating the efficacy of proprioceptive aids on muscle activation in dogs on a treadmill.

Buff continually undertakes continuous professional development (CPD) training to ensure all knowledge and skills are extensive and up-to-date in all areas of her practice.
